Not to be a buzzkill, but...
I went to church choir last night and a sympathy card and pen were going around. There's a nice lady in our church who plays piano for the cantors and sometimes the choir. Yesterday, her 6th grade son suffered a heart attack and died. Most of us amateur physicians think there had to be some sort of genetic abnormality or something, but nevertheless, I simply cannot imagine something so heart-rending.
And oh, by the way, she just got done with treatment for breast cancer, and her husband -- the one who lost his job six months ago when Blue Cross Blue Shield here downsized? -- is still recovering from triple-bypass surgery.
There but for the grace of God...
In the next few days, I'm going to set aside the inconveniences that I somehow manage in my head to turn into real hardships and remember all the blessings I have. I invite you all to join me.
