G'Day New Girl from Canada Here!
Well, I am new to the Scottish comunity though my father is Scottish I never really looked into it. Now I am getting married, and my fiance has a VERY Scottish family, so I am looking into the ROOTS. Not to mention doing my best to maintain some tradition for the wedding (don't want to accidentally insult the new inlaws! lol) So nice to meet you, whoever you are, I'm the future Marie McLean
oh and if you have any advice! I'm open to it!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
I am not sure of what questions you may have, but feel free to ask them here. We aim to please. Should you not be comfortable with asking some questions, the answers may appear in some interesting threads. On the right side of the opening screen you will see a box labeled "X Marks Navigation" with "Forums" in bold type. This will bring you to the various categories on X-Marks the Scot. There is one thread that you and your soon to be may enjoy together, http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ighlight=donts . This thread in the "Kilt Advise" forum started by Pour1Malt is about the dos and donts of kilt wearing. Enjoy.
Welcome to the forum and all things kilts and Scot.

Welcome aboard.
My advice is to love long and laugh longer. Remember that you are both fallible humans, so forgive yourself and him, and never let small things become big things. Take your vitamins and get lots of exercise. Name you first boy after me. And don't gamble; the odds are against you--big time!
Encourage your husband to wear his kilt often, drink scotch in moderation, and learn to love the pipes (if you don't already).
I'll bet you weren't expecting all that.

Congratulations Marie, and welcome.
You're marrying into one of the best looking tartans around with the MacLean Hunting...its Sir Sean Connery's tartan of choice for his maternal lineage. When you Google up a picture of Sir Sean kilted, that's the tartan he'll be wearing.

No, that's not Sir Sean, its an olde fat geezer in Arizona...
