Good evening all,
I had an interesting late morning, I had an interview for a DOD Police Officer job on post at 11:00 and of course I showed up fifteen minutes early, I was dressed accordingly and had additional copies of my resume in case they were needed.
I introduced myself to the HP person and she informed me that the Captain would be up shortly. She was on the phone when he arrived and we talked about the interview and how it was not going to be the typical what if the suspect pulled a gun and your partner was drunk, so that put me at ease even though I was prepared for anything.
It turns out that the DES (Department of Emergency Services) can not hire me by name until I have been retired for six months. However the Captain said there was a GS12 position that was opening that would match well with my Masters degree from Boston University as well as my LEMA courses. The only thing I need to do now is spend the two to four days developing my RESIMIX Resume.
The HR woman and Captain said that they were sorry for wasting my time and I said, no, that it was a learning experience and now I know what needs to be done.
So, after that I went to the Little Apple had a few beers and came home and had a few more.
I thought a kilt change was in order after I switched beers.
