Anyone heading to the BC Highland games this weekend?

I'm skipping it for the first time in 10 years.

It'll be good to miss a year. The booth selling sunglasses and Chinese dresses, the booth selling Aussie bush hats, and all the acrylic kilt booths have started to take the Scottish out of the Highland games anyway.

A year away will bring back the excitement for me.

I'm usually to be found in the School for Scottish Studies tent, but this year I've a wedding that takes priority. First miss in more than a decade. And then, on Thursday, I'm off home to Scotland for the summer. I'm already looking forward to that fiest kilt night in bthe fall, though.
