Cotton webbing flashes
I was in JoAnns, looking for materials to use in a 5-foot-long tarpon construction project of mine, when I saw this cotton webbing, and thought that it would make functional flashes for hiking, fishing, etc., saving wear and tear on my good flashes. Blue, green, oatmeal, red, and brown:

Do they have enough stretch to be comfortable? An ex-member was showing some multicolor woven ones but said the maker was experimenting with weaving some "give" into the length.
If that's not an issue, then you're right, great idea!

Well, these are just the hangdown parts! A garter will go through the loop that I formed by tacking with thread, and will wrap the leg below the knee.

I think the idea is to use these as flashes with elastic garters.

They look a lot like the sock flashes we had in Boy Scouts back in the 1970s.

Boy they sure do don't they? Great idea - I like the rugged look of the weave.

Yes, they do have a rugged, honest, appearance. However, they are built for work and play! Snag 'em and forget 'em.

Oh, of course. Guess I was "seeing what I wanted to see" when I instantly connected them to the previously proposed design. I'd go sit in the corner right now, but I just came out
