    Hogmanay

My wife and I went to a nice little Hogmanay party. I took Scotch eggs and the hostess made haggis. The host had a nice selection of single malts, though I mostly drank beer. It was a fun night.

    Meself, reading "Tam o' Shanter."

Me again, with Roy, our host.

This is Scott. He wore a Farquarson kilt.

    My bride.

Our hostess, Sally, gave Scottish Country Dance lessons.

    Dancers.

    These ladies played hammered dulcimers.

This is Chris. He played a home-made banjo.

Fabulous pics, Bob, you 'Mericans have so much fun at Hogmanay!
Looking at xmarkers photos of their Hogmanay and New Year celebrations I am becoming increasingly convinced that visiting the USA or Canada to bring in the New Year would be a lot more fun than staying here in Scotland where people either stay home alone and watch the BBC Hogmanay show on television (which I did) or they go out and get drunk and roam around the dark and frosty streets until after the midnight bells.

Good photos Bob, glad the reading of Tam went well. That homemade banjo is interesting. Happy New Year to you and yours.
