While searching for hats to counter sun burn and heat loss on an increasingly exposed head I stumbled on this slightly unique version of the Army BDU Cover. I purchased the Charcoal color in the first pic. Here's the review. http://www.leathercoatsetc.com/p-663...esign-hat.aspx Style - Very nice. It's just an army BDU cover but the charcoal wool texture, look and feel is really nice. The bill curves very well. if you like a tight curved bill this will do it. Fit/Comfort - Great. At a 24" circumference head it's very difficult to find hats that fit well and are functional. This hat is offered in more standard sizes as well as larger. Warmth - Seems to be very good. Weather service says it feels like 47 out there now (don't know where my thermometer is to validate it) and I couldn't feel any heat loss. Quality - Stitching is done well, material is soft and substantial. It has a black polyester satin lining and head band. The hat material is actually labeled 50/50 wool/viscose. The web site didn't say anything about mixed fibers so I'm torn about that. It would have been good to know that upfront. Weight - 3.5 oz. on the postal scale. All in all, I really like the hat. It's not as warm as my Harris tweed newsboy hat but that is 100% wool with a quilted satin inner lining. Hard to compete with that. For @ $30 I think it's a good, solid, functional, nice looking hat.
Nice hats. Very temping. (looks in closet at multitude of caps already there). hmmmm.
