Combat Admin Pouch = Sporran???
Hi, I'm new to this forum, but have been checking it out for a couple weeks. I have my first X-Kilt 1/2 done. It has been a very fun project, and I'm looking forward to unleashing it on my unsuspecting town. ;) I'm making it with a marpat digital camo fabric. I was thinking about putting cargo pockets on it or trying to find/build a sporran and I stumbled upon this... With a little modification for attachment to the kilt, it seems like it might be the right fit. Has anyone tried to use one of these combat admin pouches as a sporran? What do you think? Have you found any other pouches that work better? The dimensions are 7" x 6.5" x 1.5". Thanks in advance! Jason K.

First of all, welcome to XMTS!
I think that pouch would make a dandy sporran. I use something very similar (except in black) and it is very functional. I added some tassels to mine as a nod to the traditional sporran look.
One thing I don't like about the utility pouch is that it is a very stiff object with pointy corners. When doing a lot of walking it tends to beat up my thighs a bit.

Maybe I'll be stitching some PALS webbing on the apron of my camo kilt when I get around to making it...HMMMM.

Got one too. Made a strap out of mil spec 550. Definitely different, but functional.

Nice job Scotty! That is exactly the type of feedback I was hoping to get. The pouch looks pretty well sized for the application. I like the belt too.

Looks nice and very designed. However, I am not sure whether I like the Velcro Closure. It may be secured but I am concern about the loud sound when opening it up.
Have you seen the night Stalker Sporran that Stillwater kilts sells? They are only $25.

Looks like a good idea. Look forward to seeing the finished kilt and sporran. BTW, welcome to the forum.
