"Kit" finally finished (so am I)

As I mentioned back when I first started posting (http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f108/revealed-59655/), I was waiting for the "formal" sporran to arrive. Well, it did and below is the result, so to speak:

In the box and all bagged up

Out of the wrapper (plastic bag)

This is on the apron of the kilt.

I was a little surprised at the size (small) of "Stinky" (or as Doreen and Bob called it - Pepé Le Pew). The photos on the web just don't give a good size reference. Also, I was hoping that the white body stripes would be whiter but the head is white at least.

I will be posting more photo's of the complete outfit soon as the wedding is this weekend.

Arrival of the finest sporran you could desire - a rare moment and one that I am sure you will savor for a long time. Congratulations. It is beautiful. Now you must show it on.

Nice sporran! I considered purchasing an L&M myself, but got some feedback that they were a bit on the small side from a forum member. Once my wife let it be known that she was more than a little creeped out by the full mask, I decided to go another route and am having a leather cantle skunk sporran made.

Was it the color of the kilt that prompted you to go with the skunk? For me, it's a long-running feud with 10 skunks that has now been resolved (in my favor!). The sporran will be a trophy of sorts for me. Well, that and the fact that I've been needing a dressy sporran...

Looking forward to photos. I'm sure your beautiful new sporran will be a hit at the wedding!

My wife has the same issue... as do I. I think it's the eyes- and the face! Anyways, that's a great color combo- the sporran and the tartan. I like the shepherds check a lot.

    Love the sporran!

I have an old motorcycle helmet covered in a skunk hide (including tail), and a few years back I made a full mask skunk skin cap, inspired by Davy Crockett's coonskin. It took two hides, so it has a cool double stripe on eack side.

Pepé Le Pew got his revenge however earlier this week, when my dog tangled with one & lost! Phew!!!

Wow, now that is one fine sporran!
I'm sure it will be quite the head turner.

Nice sporran, congrats on the new acquisition!

Sorry that you think it's too small. We've sold quite a few L&M mask sporrans through our gift shop and I've never had the impression that their mask sporrans were "small."

The smallest mask sporran they offer is the muskrat mask (in brown/natural or black). Here I am modelling one. For reference, I'm 6' 3" and about 200 lbs.

Their other mask sporrans are all a bit larger. Here I am modelling a silver fox mask sporran, which I believe to be approximately the same size as the skunk.

I remember thinking when I wore that one how large it actually was (compare it to the typical size dress sporran worn by the man next to me). Again, I believe that the skunk mask sporran is approximately the same size as the silver fox one I am wearing. It could be that it is a bit smaller. I don't think it would need to be any larger!

Maybe after you post a picture of you wearing it, we can make a better determination as to how appropriate the size is.

(For the record, the OP did not purchase this sporran from us, but we do carry L&M products, including the full mask sporrans.)

@ShaunMaxwell - Yes, the "colors" of the skunk did have some bearing on the decision but too, it is different.

@Nighthawk - My wife, after the fact, said she really didn't want it in the house. Oops too late.

@Xman - was "hoping" the tail came with it (I knew it didn't but I was teasing my daughter) so I could "do like a skunk" when passing wind

@Matthew - No, it is smaller than I thought it would be. I was thinking it was more like the silver fox you are wearing. But, I like the size of the skunk. My complaint was I wasn't not sure of the actual size, judging from the photos I saw.
