Kilt Attire - Football Jersey
Sorry to keep beating y'all down with my questions but I'm a novice to kilt wearing.
At many highland games and Scottish fests I've been to in Texas, Colorado and North Carolina, I've noticed what I perceive to be a casual look whereas the person is wearing a kilt, a kilt belt, some kind of T-shirt and sandals or tennis shoes.
The T-shirt is usually somewhat non-descriptive and doesn't necessary relate to any Scottish symbolism.
Would wearing a football jersey instead of a T-shirt with the casual kilt attire be out of line?

You should be fine as long as it's not a Cowboy's jersey

Sounds OK to me as long as its not a Patriot's jersey.

A) no worries about too many questions, we were (or still are) noobs once.
B) Real jerseys are pretty huge, you might find a jersey cut too big for kilt wear. A team logo polo or rugby shirt might be a better fit... although your mileage may vary

As long as it isn't the Redwings you're golden. But I agree that a jersey might look pretty sloppy with a kilt...on the other hand some people maybe able to pull it off.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

If you look in the photo galleries of a lot of kiltmakers you'll find pics of guys in football jersey's and kilts.

I've done it. Many of our customers have done it. Guys in the UK wear Soccer / Football or Rugby jerseys with it. Some people buy a tartan specifically to match with their jersey.
Here's an example of a model on our site wearing his kilt and a flyers jersey for our photo shoot:
