Klited Newbie from Kincardine, ON, Canada
I bought my first kilt (PV) from buyakilt.com. I decided on the 8 yard stock kilt. It fits fantastically, but the pleats and the apron need to be pressed. The tags say low heat, any pressing hints/tips?
I will post a follow up when I've looked at the FAQ thread.

I fondly remember marching behind the band one Saturday night in Kincardine and listening to the piper playing the sun down from the lighthouse.

There was lots of great info on pressing / steaming found in the forum. Here's a pic my FIL took last night.

Hello Farley,
Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the Atlantic in Norfolk, England.
Pressing cloth (good quality cotton tea cloth), steam from a good steam iron or steam generator and finally pressure. Do not wave the iron about - that is ironing and can mis-shape your pleats. Keep the iron in one place and press down - hard.
Regards
Chas

Welcome from the Scottish Tartans Museum down in NC! We used to have a couple of regular volunteers who lived half the year in Kincardine.
Did you know your city has it's own tartan, and a rather attractive one at that?

It's chiefly worn by your local pipe band (which I'm sure you've seen marching on Saturday evenings!)
