    Elizabeth Celtic Festival 2010

This last weekend saw the Renaissance Scots Living History Society camped out at the Elizabeth, Colorado Celtic Festival. http://www.elizabethcelticfestival.com/ We had a visit from a very distinguished visitor, as well- the X Marks The Scot Saltire! I had a short time to show the wee airship around. Glen Livingston did most, but let her go around with me some. I'll start with pics of her visit:

    I showed her Viking women:

I took her to see some Roman warriors:

I took her to see some supernatural folk even!

And of course... What trip to Colorado would have been complete without a visit to the Ren Scots village?

That goofy man is Garion, one of the swordsmen in the Ren Scots. He's the one who loves kids, as many of you may remember from my pictures of the Billings festival.

These lovely ladies are two of our spinners/weavers:

This is my family hanging out in the pub:

There is a local band called Sgain Dubh. This is them playing in the main pub:

And this the band jamming in the Ren Scot's pub!

Our clan chief in his new tent (of which I am EXTREMELY jealous!):

Danny having had too much to drink... (that bottle, by the way, was full of iced tea! Sad...)

So these are the more interesting events and pictures from the weekend. The rest are all more of the same from the other threads- us doing what we do!

So now, I figure I should post a few pictures of the projects from the weekend. I made myself a mug hanger:

And I made a pair of antiqued Celtic bracers, which I decided to put on eBay to see if there is any interest:

I'm selling them because I used a pattern that's too small for my arms (I love them and would keep them if they fit!!) and no one else in the group needs a pair. It almost saddens me to sell them!!

I also made a sheath for my sons tomahawk. I haven't taken pictures of it yet, but will soon. Also, an interesting development- my buddy Robert and myself have decided that the Ren Scot village just isn't big enough, so we're adding another tent. He is also a leather worker, so we decided the village needs a leather shop. We're thinking about naming it Tan Your Hide or Hide And Hair. We need to design and make our banner.
