Drover sporran
Does anyone have pictures of the drover's sporran that is sold many places. Its the one that looks like there is a strap woven in a circle on the flap and has either a turks head or monkeys fist knot on two strings that run through a hole in the center of the top flap. I am looking for closed as well as open pictures and maybe a short review of it. I would like to see how it works and how well made it is.
THANKS
HAROLD

I have no pictures, but I've heard from folks who have seen them that the craftsmanship and materials of the drover are not as good as they might be. This is only second-hand information, mind you, and I cannot speak authoritatively on this topic.
For that style, my first suggestion would be to go with either Ferguson Britt or Artificer. Either of those fellows will provide you with a sporran that will outlast you, and look great doing it.

If you try a google search using "drovers sporran" you will come up with a list of serveral sites, all with pics (mostly closed sporrans though) House of Tartan and Mackenziefrain just to name two. Good Hunting

...and if you want one, you'd better hurry- It sounds to me like the man who makes them has recently passed on.
