    Hi Tim,

Firstly let me say that I don't know this particular product, but I know this kind of product.

When most people start to research their family tree, their enthusiasm soon takes a severe beating. It is usually only the dedicated that carry on. The problem is that most people don't know what they don't know and then they don't know how to find out.

What most people want is some sort of check-list - do this, go there, read that. This DVD purports to do that.

Full of practical advice on how to trace your family tree, shows you how to find out more about your own Scottish ancestors - even view your families' original Scottish birth certificates online.
If it does what it says it will, then it is worth the money. As far as I am aware, there is a charge for on-line viewing of records.

There seems to be things added in to 'pad out' the DVD. How accurate is the "Includes information on the land and heritage of Scotland's many clans" - Which clans? "and lovely songs from celtic singer Fiona Kennedy" - very nice, but nothing to do with genealogy. "Includes exclusive insights from celebrities including Ewan MacGregor on what Scotland means to them." Will your task be easier for knowing Ewan's insights?

There is usually quite a high cost in tracing one's family tree. If this DVD gives you the information you need it will save you money and could well be worth it.

    Regards

    Chas
