Hello,

I'm from Bowie Maryland, but since a lot of people don't know where that is, we'll settle for the Maryland suburbs of DC. I started wearing kilts about 30 years ago as part of historical re-enactments (SCA.) I got away from all that when I got married about 20 years ago. But, I have gotten back to wearing a kilt since I joined a pipe and drum band about 3 years ago. It's the Prince George's County Police Pipe Band. They are a teaching band and I had inherited a tenor drum from my grandfather who used to play it as part as a Mason's pipe band.

So, now I've actually ordered my own kilt from Burnetts and Struth, a 5 yard kilt. Yesterday I went to the Southern Maryland Celtic Festival and picked up a sporran, a kilt, belt, some hose, and two shirts. So now, I don't have to rely on the band issued accessories. I'm just waiting on my kilt to show up - but I e-mailed them a couple of weeks ago and they said they are slightly backed up and it will be about 6 weeks for delivery.

I'm looking forward to a chance to wear my kilt and meet with some XMarkers here in the DC area (hopefully on the Maryland side.)
