Who knows of this tweed
I am saving for a jacket and waistcoat in a day wear tweed. I am looking for a tweed with a nice tan base and a claret or dark red windowpane. Does anyone know of a weaver or kilt jacket maker or retailer who fits the bill? I am going to wear this with my Auld Scotland kilt. I am having a MacEwan modern tartan kilt being made now but i will be wearing that with either a doublet or a grey tweed jacket and waistcoat.

Something like this? Any good traditional tailor in the UK will have access to cloth like that, or, similar.

The second picture of YOUR pictures is interesting.Firstly the breast pocket is on the right(should be the left) side. Secondly the waistcoat has a vertical "button hole" for the watch chain---a nice touch.

That is a handsome fabric. Certainly most of our North American sponsors could put us in that style! Just clicky the links above.
That second photo almost certainly has been "flipped" left to right, or it's a literal mirror image. Look closely at the buttons, and pretend you're looking in the mirror & doing up the waistcoat. Either it's a mirror image, or a woman's jacket.

Here is what we can generally get access to here:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/jacket_cloth.htm
Nothing exactly like what you show, but the Poacher Ettrick tweed looks nice with the Auld Scotland tartan. However, we do have the ability to have a short length (5m) run made of Harris Tweed, so it is possible, for example, for us to send them a sample of the tartan and have a windowpane tweed made in that style in colors chosen to coordinate with your kilt. Email me or PM if you are interested in learning more.
