Back in The Netherlands from Canada
We had a nice vacation in Western Canada, starting & ending at Vancouver, where we cycled through Stanley Park

Via Revelstoke (here Giant Cedars boardwalk in Mt Revelstoke Nat'l Park)

we went to Banff National Park

Then to Jasper National Park

and Clearwater with the Wells Gray Provincial Park, several great waterfalls (here Helmcken Falls)

Up to the North West via Prince George, Smithers, to Prince Rupert we got more & more rain, so no nice pictures; even the Inside Passage to Port Hardy was grey and rainy.
On Canada day we were at Campbell River, where we found a monument of Dutch gratitude for the Canadian help in liberating The Netherlands

The Canada Day Parade had a pipe band, and the day ended sunny, later with great fireworks

Victoria, our next stop, was sunny and very pleasant

And the Butchart Gardens North of Victoria, on our way back to Vancouver, were beautiful

Jan,
On the Sunday of your trip I believe you were in Victoria and stopped at our Royal BC Museum.
You spoke with the volunteers at the info desk and they told me you had been there 10 min. before I arrived.
It was a shame you could not have stayed just a bit longer as Kiltedwolfman and myself would have loved to meet you.

Yes, that's a pity! We wanted to do some things before we listened to the (Dutch) carillion at 15:00.

Glad you had a great time; too bad you didn't get to meet up with the Wizard.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I knew I recognised you in your pics, my daughters and I said hello as we were leaving the museum. I was weaaring an olive drab kilt as we walked by listening to the bells.
