New and need help
Hello to all, I am lucian75 and new here although I have been reading threads for a while now. I am particularlly interested in the X-Kilt and have already purchased everything that i need to complete the project. There is one issue though, my waist is 40 and my rump is 41. This does not quite calculate right. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help me overcome this issue.
Please help me, and thank you in advance

Welcome, and you're not alone! Most likely your shape is (excuse the straight talk) tummy sticking out in front and some rump sticking out in back, correct? If so, there are several ways to measure this type of body, the end result being a hip measurement large enough that the aprons fall straight down from your tummy toward the floor. I'll try to pull up some of the existing threads that discuss the issue and link them here -- just give me a few minutes to search for them.
OK, here's one LINK where I describe one method. Within this thread is a link to another thread where a different method is described. End result of either method is pretty much the same.
Have fun and good luck!

Thank you
Thank you for the warm welcome and that pretty much describes my shape. With Renaissance Festival season starting next week I had hoped to be farther than this by now but I wasn't sure how to (or if I could) proceed.

Perhaps this will help you understand the concept of measuring.
This is a video I made which can be found on my website.
Click here to go to the right page.
Pay attention to the video at 2:26 for waist heights
At 3:40 for waist measurement.
And especially at 4:20 for the hip measurement.
Note that for "Gentlemen of Substance" there is a different way of determining the hip circumferance.
Don't worry about the rest of the video as this is only for how I measure but the points I bring out may help you.
