Hello...I am back
Hi...
Just signed back on to the forum after a long absence. In my previous visits to the forum I posted very little, being employed at the time. Now that I have retired from my day job I may be a bit more active.
I live in Shelby, NC. I am a past president of the Clan Gunn Society of North America and was Great Smokies Commissioner for the Society for fifteen years. My wife and I own Bold Blades which is a supplier of various Scottish stuff, mostly swords. Our son is the current editor of The Gunn Salute, the newsletter for the Society. I also serve as North American liaison for the UK Society. I have written several articles for The Highlander over the last few years.
I have been involved with this Scottish stuff for over thirty years and find that it can be all-consuming at times.

Welcome back. With a name like that I would have pegged you for the Donnachaidhs.
And, BTW, congratualtions on the retirement. You are the hero of many of us here.

Thanks for the welcome. The Robinson comes from the Robson Gunns of Braemore, probably the most important of the cadet branches of Clan Gunn.

Welcome back, Lin -- the baldric arrived Saturday, and a friend is going to make the necessary modifications for the Broadsword this weekend.

Hi Lin
Welcome back. Have only been here alittle over a year myself so I dont believe I have met you before on XMarks. Hope you enjoy your time here--lots of new folks and alot of great info to be found and shared.
Have become friends with the Nelson's in NY--not sure if you know many of the Gunn commissioners from the eastern part of the states.

I'll discuss it with the Executive Committee members this Saturday at our Burns Night, Lin.
