Smile Comments not about the kilt.

Interesting comments while out and about today. Wore my SWK Leatherneck when my wife and I went shopping in town. The comments I received were about the t-shirt I wore and the assortment of homemade neck wear I always wear. The t-shirt is a dark green with a graphic of Stonehenge and a large group of people dancing around it. Under this are the words, "Give me that old time religion." My neck wear consists of some bone and stone amulets that I made myself, and a small metal Goddess figurine. No one mentioned the kilt. I guess that people are just used to seeing me wearing a kilt.

I would love to get one of those tee shirts. I'll need a gift later in the year for a friend who is a retired minister, and he would really like that shirt!

Have that Give me Olde Tyme Religion bumper sticker on my car - only here in Indian Country it has a medicine wheel instead of Stonehenge.

To the topic: When I see a stranger headed for me with "that look" that they just gotta say something my mind gets ready with the basic kilt comment responses. But sometimes they ask about my Z Coil shoes - what are they? - where can I get some? or...the t-shirt I'm wearing.

Always knocks me for a loop when they don't ask about the kilt. Wanna shout, "Hey - can't you see I'm kilted!? Don't you wanna say something about the kilt?"

Guess that just means the kilt is more "normal" than weird shoes or fiesty t-shirt slogans.

That can only be good news, can't it. When a kilt is so accepted that people are more interested in your T shirt.

... a graphic of Stonehenge and a large group of people dancing around it....
"Let us pray like the ancient Druids!
    They drank fermented fluids,
    Dancing naked through the woo-ids
And that's good enough for me!

    Gim'mee that old time religion..."
