    edinburghkiltcompany.com on ebay ?

I am looking at buying one of their Argyll jackets on ebay, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this particular merchant on Ebay ?

The jacket is selling for about 150.00 and the description says it's 100 % 15oz barathea wool and DESIGNED in scotland.

The prices offered leads me to believe it's made in Pakistan. Looking at their website (edinburghkiltcompany.com) shows many of the famous 'Pakistani Casual Kilts' offered in the $40 price range, $25 dress sporrans, bagpipes and chanters in the low price range, etc. I'm not saying it's a good or bad merchant... just pointing out that it looks 'too good to be true', along with the slightly misleading "DESIGNED in Scotland" tag.

When all else fails, email them and directly ask the question "Where was the jacket made... Pakistan, China or Scotland?".

Again, there's nothing wrong with things made in Pakistan or China, so long as it's described as such so the consumer can make an informed decision. If it is made in Pakistan / China, likely the quality will be a bit lower, BUT the price is much lower than Scottish made as well. So long as your expectations are set to the right level, you'll be fine.

    Thanks Rocky.

That's what I figured, I wasn't expecting top notch quality. I basically only need the jacket for pipe and drum band and would rather not shell out 250 - 400 on a jacket that might get banged up pretty quick.

I was hopping someone had bought one of these and had a story of personal experience to share.

    Thanks again.

Something else to consider after asking where the jacket is made is asking where the jacket is being sent from. There are likely import duty charges to pay if the jacket is sent from outside your own country

I saw a tag recently that said "100% Virgin Acrylic". What's up with that?
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

It just means that the Acrylic wasn't some cheap floozie.

And for 89.95 they have, and I quote, a 'crumpler considerable embarassment bag' - what??!!!
