New (to me) Gordon Red PV

I just recently purchased a used Gordon Red PV kilt made by Skye Highland Outfitters. Let me tell you, this is a fantastic kilt. Plus, the fact that Gordon is one of my ancestral connections to Scotland just makes it sweeter.

Here are three flavors I tried, using what little I have...

This is Flavor 1: Pleat shot. Wearing A green-ish shirt and black hose. It turned out a little dark -- so I edited it and re-uploaded. Hopefully I didn't mess the colors up too much.

This is Flavor 2: Wearing claret shirt and hose. I really like this color combo. This is also the only shot I got of my new SWK Sporran.

This is Flavor 3: What I refer to as my "hiking outfit". Jacobite style shirt and cream hose. Bown vest. Hiking Boots. My new (to me) brown belt. I kind of like this whole look but think maybe brown or tan hose would be a better thing.

    Happy indeed!

    Rob.

P.S. I do have some other shots of these three flavors. If there is interest, I'll see if I can get them posted.

    Very nice, indeed.

I, too have a Gordon connection and belong to the Clan Society. I have it on my short list a Gordon Red in PV from Rocky.

Rob: Nice color coordination in every shot. They make your Gordon Red look like three different kilts or a "chameleon". Are you sure it's PV or some of that cloaking stealth cloth developed by SNL?

As for the cream hose, I think it looks great, especially when you're brandishing a long sword. But, brown or tan would work, too.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

If it was the ultra-secret chameleon cloaking stealth cloth -- I couldn't tell you now could I? So...No Comment

Actually, I don't usually go hiking with the claymore but it's such a nice sword that I had to let it have its picture taken with me .

I have a couple of hiking staffs (staves?) which my daughter and son-in-law made for me and I use them in lieu of the long sword when hiking.

Will be getting some brown hose in the hopefully not too distant future (does the Jonesing ever end?)...

    Thanks!

It is a fantastic kilt and my first PV kilt.

I don't know if there is a local branch society for Clan Gordon near me but I'll ask around at our next Highland Games (May 19-20, 2012). I'm planning on going one day in the MacMillan Ancient and then on the next wearing the Gordon Red.

I tried to steal this kilt, but the previous caretaker could not let it go for what I could offer at the time. It is a great looking tartan. You wear it well!

    Thanks!

I too did not have the available funds, but my daughter and her fiance did -- so this classes as an early Father's Day Gift
