Kilted rant on close minded society.

Not to be the negative guy around here. But today, My son age 9 decided to wear his Ancient Campbell kilt out and about. I am usually wearing my Campbell or UT Kilt. So after a few hours, I get a flock of people at my door. Also a parent with a Child my son Plays with. They state they have taken a vote and we are no longer allowed to wear our Kilts around our neighborhood. I chuckled, then one parent said when my Son came to door to see whats going on. They exclaimed, I was turning my Son into a closet Homo. The chuckles changed, from chuckles, into I mad me. I walked out told my Kid to close the door. I then gave them a piece of my mind. I explained to them all, that most likely they have Scottish blood in there veins also. I just chose to embrace my family. I also said my son is proud also. When they said you should not have him wear Girl skirts, I said and you being a Wench should not be wearing pants. Then said what I do in my life is not your matter, so leave us. Has anyone else had similar? if so whats the best to do? I don't want fingers pointed to my Proud Son. Any pointers would help. Thanks

    "...a whole flock of people...."

Did they come after dark, bearing pitchforks and torches?

Were they all home from school when the First Amendment was taught?

First thoughts included the words, "lynch mob"...

    ...and "A-H*les"....

Other members of the Rabble are requested to take it from here, for now.

I don't have any advice but I'm just shocked at this story.

I can't believe these people....they show their ignorance and intolerance on many levels.

I'm shocked by this story as well.
You should also be commended for your ability to restrain yourself.
If that was me I imagine there would be a few "neighbors" strewn about my front lawn.

oh if it were Men there would have been. I call them the Hen Brigade. Its a group of Hens that talk all gossip and have nothing better to do. My Wife says take it with a grain of salt. Just because were not like them, there going to point us out. However I'm upset because its my kid.

I doubt I could have held my temper in check in the face of that ignorance. Good for you and fie on them. Good on your son too for knowing what he likes and going with it.

Very proud of my Son, he said it does not matter what they think. He said his Friend who was in the crowd actually thought it was cool I wore a Kilt that his Grandpa wears one at Christmas. So hmmm maybe the kids are smarter than some adults.
