Newbie currently living in Kansas
I say "currently living in Kansas" because as a military physician, I have lived numerous places including Hawaii, Germany, Belgium, North Carolina and New York. We've been in Kansas for less than a year. If it stays this hot, this may well be our last summer here too.
I have never worn a kilt, although I have a Comfy Kilt from Sportkilts.com on it's way to my house. I decided to start there for a couple of reasons. First it is all natural fiber (cotton). Second, it is an inexpensive entry into kilts. Third, it will give me a chance to try it out in the privacy of my own home.
