    a hiking we will go!

Today myself and the family decided to hike the nearby peak, Mount Major. Being in the high 70's I thought this a perfect opportunity to throw on my kilt and sporran and have at it, regimental. It was about an hour and a half of steep inclines, but the view was fantastic. I have never been so comfortable. The only thing that felt odd was the sensation of sweating about the ballocks (which I'd imagine you get used to)

Looks like a nice view at the top of the hike. I also looks like the young ladies enjoyed the hike.

I have yet to tried them yet myself but there are two products that you can apply to your inner thighs to help with any sweat problems. One of them is from USAKilts called Body Glide and the other is from 2Toms called Sport Shield. They are applied to areas where body meets cloth and forms some sort of shield. It might help with the "odd sensation of sweating" in that area.

There's another product out that works well too, it's call UNDERWEAR.. Some of them are even made of material designed to absorb, then quickly evaporate, moisture. Technology is just crazy isn't it?? Sorry guys, I can't imagine all of the negatives of going regimental being negated by the one argument of "freedom". But, to each his own.

Beyond my editorial, it does indeed look like a great hike-to point with a great view!! Thanks for sharing the trip with us.

"All of the negatives"? What negatives are you talking about? I've been hiking regimental for years, and have never had a need for Body Glide or any other product. I can't think of a single negative.

Doesn't make sense to me that some fabric can evaporate sweat faster than air itself. Wearing underwear when you need your body's natural air conditioning (remember Creator designed us to be sky clad) is like tossing a blanket over your air conditioning unit.

Learned the hard way hiking to pay attention to things like where the bottom of the kilt hits your legs, what the kilt fabric hitting your legs is, where your sporran is positioned, and the importance of a Body Glide type goo is for kilties with chunkie thighs.

What I've settled on for hiking is the cotton knit underkilt...provides protection from the harsh fabric of the kilt and absorbtion.
