My 1st kilt wearing outside of Scottish Games
I bought my 1st kilt from Highland Kilt Company at last weeks Scottish Games in Altamont, NY. They had a bunch of them priced below 100 bucks, so right in my range. I got one that is close to Black Watch, though I'm not sure it is exactly. I need to do more research. I hope within the next month to get a semi-traditional kilt in Ancient Campbell from USA Kilts. But for right now, it was simply a matter of getting up nerve to wear my kilt, so off to get gas for the pick-up and then Lowe's for replacement window glass. You could say I was casual, but that's only because all I have right now is a kilt. The sporran belt that came with the kilt is way too large, so that needs help. Plus I need to get some hose next I guess, and maybe a big black belt with a Campbell buckle. That needs to wait till I get a more traditional kilt. Until then, this is what I'm wearing, and will continue to wear for casual use.

Hope all you good lads and lassies are having a great day!

Thank you sir. I am glad I had the nerve to do it. You see, my wife is gone for the day, and that made it easier... Basically, now that I have been out for normal weekend stuff, I'll keep it on. In the meantime, I need to get ready to order a custom kilt. Should have the cash in a month. It's hard being Scottish, tight with the dollar, and buying kilt wear!

Thank you Pipersson. I've wanted a kilt for a long time, but I'm cheap. As I get older, I have decided to indulge myself a wee bit!

Very good plan!
We should try to do whatever pleases us as long as we can...and therefore as soon as we can :-)

Great philosophy Pipersson. I'm coming to it late...

Maybe later but not too late....every day is a benefit... :-)

If the sporran belt is too large, as is often the case, and it has a chain, it is simple to open the links and create the proper length.

Ah yes, I emailed the company I got the kilt from this morning, and got a reply from them not long after. Very impressive! Thank you for thinking of me. I need to get my kilt act together!
