Hello from Calgary
Hello everyone. Kevin, from Calgary, Alberta. I have stumbled across this forum a few times in the past when looking for kilt information. Thank you for the great information, the sharing of some amazing stories, and occasionally the awesome hilarity. Recently I finally signed up as a member.
For my wedding (now 12 years ago - the times flies...) I rented a kilt. I had wanted to buy my own, with my clan tartan, however the budget would not allow it. Weddings are expensive! But the idea was planted...
A few years ago, my family all went on cruise together. My brother and I saved our pennies and bought ourselves the kilts, the jackets, and all the related accessories. Our mother was very pleasantly surprised that first Formal dinner!
I have not yet taken the plunge to go kilted fulltime. I'm working on it

Hi, Kevin, and welcome to X Marks from the bottom end of Africa.
Many years ago I attended a Highland day on a farm near the city of East London, here in the Eastern Cape. The farm’s name was Calgary. As we neared the farmstead we passed a circular fort, built in the 19th-century frontier days, over which St Andrew’s cross was fluttering.
Regards,
Mike
