Next year
I'm already looking forward to next season's highland games. This year was a tremendous success for the state of Missouri.
For all of you in driving distance, next season begins with Tartan day in St. Louis in early April and then the first games of the season in Warrensburg Missouri.
If any of you find yourself at games in Missouri, stop by the Clan Donald/MacDonald tent and give me a howdy.

Yowzah from metro Chicago. The games and festival was grande fun. Lots of haggis and brew, burly men doing manly games, fine, fine music, huge, eclectic crowd.
Now as we settle into the cool, memories and photos of the fun can still bring smiles...until next summer.

Wished I had known your name before the games, would have stopped in for a Hello. We enjoyed the Saturday indeed. Weather was nice, sunny and 70's all day. The events were enjoyable as always and I really enjoyed seeing the sheep herding demo by the lady with the 3 Border Collies. Funny thing is when we were driving home that night Jennifer stated she couldnt get the bagpipe music out of her head, I laughed and said I was glad I wasnt the only one. A good time had by us and we look forward to next year.

I just wish there was a "season" of games here in OKC. I'd have to get on with several 6+ hour drives just to see more than the local games--alright, only 2 hours to Tulsa, but that on local are it.
I just might find myself in MO during next Spring. Hopefully that is during a time when there are some games going on.

I wish I'd have known you were coming as well. I will be at most of the games in Missouri next year. I'm going to try and make it for Tartan Day in St. Louis next April. Then comes Warrensburg in April, Kansas City in June, Buffalo and St. Louis in September. You will have to stop by the tent next year and give a hearty XMTS hello to me.

April will find games in Warrensburg MO and Tartan Day in St. Louis. The closest games to you would be Buffalo MO in Sept and if you want, the McPherson KS games in September with McPherson being just north of Wichita.

McPherson is a nice games, although I do wish it was a little later after Tulsa. The Iron Thistle Festival/games in Yukon in April is also close - if they'd add piping comps I'd make it a priority to go. (Actually, the same is true for the Buffalo games.)

I thought the Iron Thistle had a piping comp this year. There were lots of pipe bands, although they may have jusy been a demo type thing with no comp.
I have gone to Iron Thistle the past couple years. Missed Tulsa this year. But those are only two...I might be able to make a trip to KS or MO for a weekend getaway:-)
