Quick question for anyone with more experience:
My Scotland made Braemar jacket & Argyll jacket are 40S (virtually perfectly fit), but the only PC I've ever rented has been 42R (according to kilt hire, fit very well & felt fine).
Does this sound correct given the difference in styles?

I'm not sure who made your other jackets, so I can't speak to their fit, but the body of the jacket from the same manufacturer (at least the ones we use) will fit the same way. Typically, a "42 Long" will have the same chest size, waist size, sleeve length and half back measurement whether it's an Argyll, Crail, PC, Doublet, Braemar, etc.
For our jackets, we recommend people order one size up from their AMERICAN suit size. If you're normally a 40 Reg, order a 42 Reg. The other thing to do is take your chest measurement and add 2 to 3" to it until you reach the next even #. If you're measuring 39" or 40", then order a 42. This goes for jackets you order FROM USA KILTS ONLY. If you are going to order a jacket from another store, please contact them to find out how their jackets run (large, true to size or small).

Boy Rocky, in a couple weeks I would buy a 48R from you if available. We're waiting on a refi for our house and not spending a penny till we close, which should be within the next couple weeks. Everything is done, appraisal is in, commitment letter is signed, now it's just waiting. Time is my enemy!
Good luck with the sale.
Frank
I know it would be a 48R because I tried one on when I was in for my kilt fitting.
