Quick Introduction
Hi everyone. I wanted to do a bit of an introduction so that I don't get X'ed for lurking.. haha.. My name is Brenda, but I won't be the kilted one. I'm currently doing research for my husband who will eventually take over this account. My husband's name is Charles and I'm sure in the near future he'll take over and get to know everyone, but right now, the US Air Force keeps him pretty busy. We've been doing extensive genealogy into his family lines over the last 2 years and had a real surprise. He had always thought his family hailed from Germany before coming to the US but had no way of backing it up as his grandparents died young.. Well, after over 200 hours of research, not a single German in site... He's a Scot.. He has distant ties to Sutherland and Stuart by his grandfather's (Barnett) side but his grandmother was a Campbell as far back as we can take it. Suddenly, MY love for all things Scotland (without a drop of Scot in me) has rubbed off on him since finding his ties and he has talked to me about the desire to purchase his first Kilt to represent his Campbell heritage. I told him I would buy his first Kilt as a gift (he's required to buy the rest of his Highland attire) under one condition - he MUST research the history of Scotland before I would allow him to wear it.. (Poor guy didn't even know what Culloden was, much less how to properly pronounce it haha).. If he's gonna wear it, he's gonna understand it first.
I'm currently looking at buying him a custom 5yd Campbell Modern in the next few weeks and hopefully will have him clad in it by mid year. We live in the Mojave desert of California so I feel the shorter yardage would be a better choice for him.. I've been using your forum for alot of my learning (Many of yall are such a wealth of information) and figured I would go ahead and join, in case I have questions .. Once I get his man kilted, I'll have him take over Hope yall don't mind if I invade for a bit though

Hello Brenda,
Welcome to XMarks from the other side of the world in Norfolk, England.
Seeing as you have taken the initiative, I agree with Grizzly that you both should be represented here.
Regards
Chas

Welcome Brenda (and Charles).
You'll find a lot of info and friends here.
And your husband is lucky to have such an understanding and supportive wife.
