The Downey Family
I have been trying to tie up some loose ends with my genealogy and have made some good strides in the last few weeks. I traced my ancestry all the way to county Donegal Ireland and then on into the Ulster-Scot migration. Seems we decided to move islands around that time due to the over population. (This is what I am assuming at this point.) I now have a solid footing in the isles to start off on. Finding the link to the isles were really difficult but I am glad to be back a bit farther.
Now starts the fun and interesting journey deep into my roots!

The Ulster-Scot migration was from Scotland to Ireland. Are you saying they moved from Donegal to Scotland?

To clarify, I believe we moved to Ireland from Scotland during that migration. I was thinking backwards if you will so I went from USA to Ireland to Scotland in my thought process.
