Hi, my name is Rob and I am new to the forum. I am almost finished making my first kilt, and I would like to say what a wonderful experience it has been. I'm actually excited to start the next one, although I am not looking forward to the daunting task of picking out a new tartan. I spent almost two years browsing through Scotweb.com and finally picked 16 oz. Isle of Skye from Locharron. I've never before worked with a more beautiful fabric, and I have found that the hand sewing has been a real pleasure. I think I will be proud of the finished product! I would also like to say that the book "The Art of Kiltmaking" is one of the most comprehensive books I have ever read, and as a trained chemist, I have read a few. What a wonderful new hobby this has become for me. I look forward to being an active member of this forum. Cheers!
