Hello All!
New to the forum - have been lurking in the shadows for a few months.
Just received my kilts today from Hector Russel Canada; 1 Fraser red and 1 Fraser Hunting. Love them both.
I live in Denver and have made contact with the Ladies from Hell kilt club so will see what happens.
I have a question: when wearing my kilt, when I sit I notice that the belt tends to ride up over the top of the kilt. As the top of the kilt comes just below my rib cage, this is quite bothersome. Any suggestions or tips so that this does not happen?
Thanks in advance. Love the forum

About the belt riding up thing, I have never had that problem so I don't really have anything I can share with you. I personaly don't wear my Kilts that hi up so maybe that's why I don't have the problem. I am sure someone will be able to help you though.

Good to have as a part of the forum.
But beware it is very addictive: this forum and kilt wearing.
I am with Andrew on this one, I’m not sure how to help.
Knowing this board help is only a few minutes away.

Welcome to the board. I wear my kilts about navel high and haven't had a problem with the belt riding up. Ribcage high would be military I think and I'm not sure that they wear a belt beyond the regulation web belts.

Hi giraffe welcome, welcome. Don't listen to nelson, this forum is not addictive, well, not that I've noticed.
Do you have enough belt loops to hold the belt? My last kilt was a USA kilt, the two loops near the front are really good for holding the belt just right.

I have two belt loops in the back, those and the buckles on the side of the kilt keep my belt in place.

Hell-o Giraffe,
Welcome to the forum! Since you have been lurking awhile, you know how great everyone is here. What part of Denver do you live in? I am by the University of Denver, and now that you are here, it sounds like a good chance for a kilt night.
Again welcome to the forum, and I cannot wait to hear about your new kilted experiences.

Hello Giraffe, and welcome. Both very nice tartans you've got there. Re: the kilt belt... I might suggest letting the belt out slightly. Is this a traditional 2" wide belt?

Hi Giraffe, welcome to the board, can't help with the belt thing, try pm'ing Robbie or Hamish, they're almost certain to know a trick or two.
Cheers Rhino

Welcome in giraffe.
Hector Russel makes beautiful kilts (I have one myself from the Toronto store) but they do not have belt loops. I found I had to hitch my belt a little tighter and it stopped sliding up.
