Weighing up the cost of a kilt
This is going to sound like i have a serious problem, but this is the truth.
Lately, every time I consider a purchase for the business I am tending to see the cost of that purchase in terms of how many kilts it will buy.
For example, I was looking at an All-in-one printer/scanner/fax for about $600. My first thought was, 'wow, I could buy 1,2 or even three kilts for that'.
Then I think, nah, I'd rather have the kilt.
Tell me, is this a sign if kiltaddiction? Is there a cure? help me please

yes it is...
Graham,
You have a serious problem (as do I). You've taken the first step which is admitting the problem. now you have to take the next step which is apologizing to all those that your addiction has affected... your wife, your kids (especially if they're under "Knee High"), people picking up change off the ground, anyone who saw you climb that ladder, the rest of your roofing crew, people who saw you jumping on the trampoline... the list goes on.
Lastly, you need to satiate that addiction by owning nothing but kilts. When you no longer own trousers and DO own approximately 35 to 40 kilts, then you can move to the next level... paying off your credit cards.

dirks etc. $800.00
loss of income form being on xmarks web site too much and seeing other kilts you must have: $2500.
Freedom and feeling while wearing a kilt:

Graham,
You have a great marketing tool here. You are the kilted sign man of Tasmania. No one else has that distinction and if someone else comes along you are the original! Buy the equipment, and when everything is in working order reward yourself with another kilt.
Another option you can do is add about 10% of the expense into a kilt fund. So with $600 another $60 goes into the fund. Build that up and soon you have another kilt. Do it with everything you buy for the business, like I said this is a great marketing tool.
Integrate your love of kilts with the love of your business and bring them together.

Glen has a good point... you buy the kilt as a company uniform - then write off part of the cost as a business expense... is that legal in Tasmania???

If you spend the money on equipment for your work this equipment should make it so that you can make more money and use that money to buy kilts.

Blu and Glen, between the two of you I can see my business booming with your ideas
I'm already working on redesigning the logo, I'll post some ideas here for your feedback.
I can claim for inductrial clothing provided it carried the company logo.
That's easy to do, just get some badges embroidered like the USAKilt badge.
More later
