New brown Harris Tweed kilt jacket!

My local seamstress wanted a go at making my craigslist Harris Tweed sport jacket into a kilt jacket, and did a wonderful job! Also in this pic is the new dress belt and buckle I bought from OCRichard. I just picked up the kilt jacket yesterday afternoon in the nick of time for a malt tasting at the St. Andrew's Society of Albany. This pic is how I dressed to go (in sub zero weather, mind you). Of the 10 in attendance, I was the only one kilted. Frank

Well done, Frank. We really do not see enough of the darker brown jackets.

Yeah, but now I need to make a brown kilt & sporran belts, and find a casual brown sporran. I have brown shoes. Thank you folks, just doing the best I can. As a bonus, this jacket came with a nice heavy pair of brown wool trousers that the same seamstress has lengthened for me enough to wear. Both the coat and trousers were in like-new condition for 20 bucks! Frank

It will all come together over time. The jacket is a great start.

Once it gets warm enough in the garage I will get my leather stuff out and at least take care of the belts! But yes, time is the key. Retirement is a few years away, and I want to be prepared!

    Thanks!

Nice Frank, I'm picking up my tweed jacket that I am having altered in a week - hope it looks as good as yours!

Good for you Sturdy! What I did to help was bring in another tweed kilt jacket my seamstress could work from. She said with that help, it did not take long at all to tailor the jacket. How's things over in Ithaca? Balmy? Frank
