Out and about in the Capital.
My wife and I were downtown yesterday and luckily had the camera. The two large fountains had been partially iced over due to the recent cold snap and made for some excellent photo taking.

Flipping eck Jackson it wasn't that cold when I came over last June. Seems like a lifetime ago now, memories are still fresh though. Great pics. Wish I was back there now!

Thank goodness, we are surfacing from the Big Chill. I was out in the backyard encouraging the little snowdrops (flowers) that it might be safe to open the petals!

Excellent pictures, its strange to think of Victoria being so cold.
Here in Scotland we have been on the other side of the vortex which brought the big chill to much of North America. With winds from the south-west, we have had more rain than usual and our temperatures have been milder than normal, with just a few overnight frosts and no snow here. Indeed the snowdrops in my garden are already in bloom. Further north in Scotland, the rain has been falling on the mountains as snow and in some of the Scottish ski resorts the ski tow poles are almost buried in snow. I've heard it said that this year some of the Scottish ski resorts have more snow than Whistler!

Nice photos. How long did it take for the fountains to thaw?
It's been many years since I was last in Victoria.

Nice pictures. But what is that green stuff in the background, it seems familiar but can't quite remember what it is called since everything been white for a long time.

The fountains were thawed the next day, we had some rain come in and poof all evidence of the cold was washed away.
