Alexandria VA Scottish Christmas Walk Parade
It's hard to believe but in less than two weeks the Alexandria VA Scottish Christmas Walk Parade will be held on Saturday, 12/6. I have registered my Clan Society, MacCallum Malcolm to participate in it. Each year, I invite members here who may not be associated with a Clan or one that is not marching in the parade to join our group. The only requirements are to have some tartan showing, smile and wave. Many a year, I’ve had more XMarkers in the unit than Kinsmen.
The Parade begins at 11 AM and ends around 1 PM. You will need to be at our assigned staging area by 10 AM.
PM me with your email address if you are interested to do so and I'll keep you posted on our assignments, etc.
Here are my pics from last year's parade.
Who else will be participating in this parade?

I'll be with the Appins as usual, but will try and do a social call before the parade starts.

Hopefully, we will see you there Ern. We will be marching with the St. Andrews Society of the Eastern Shore. Perhaps we will meet up after the parade.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Current plans are for myself and three of the grandkids to be there, with the Clan Young Society.

I'm planning to be there with the Scottish American Military Society (SAMS). Clan Macneil isn't participating as far as I know.

I was in hospital for the entire MD Irish Festival, but attending a Scottish event would hardly balance that out, although the wife (and hence also the kids) are Clan Davidson, albeit none of them own a kilt. My wife does own a Davidson kilt pin (Why? What use is it without a kilt?), and possibly a Davidson scarf, but nothing else even vaguely Scots.
