    Newbie in VA

First time poster, though I have lurked for long enough. I am not a traditionalist kilt fan (what finally brought me into the fold? The 5.11 TDK. I admit that I have a hard time accepting no pockets (particularly since I am an Army Guard member, so it gives me pleasure to put my hands in pockets when not in uniform)). I actually just wore my TDK (multicam of course) for the first time outside last weekend. I also own 2 Sportkilts for around the house. I live in NoVa, Arlington.

And now I am winnowing down what is the best length kilt for me to run next years Army Ten Miler. I saw one guy there this year in the U.S. Army tartan pattern and I was kind of jealous.

Well met Danielobyt. I am former Army and truly like my US Army tartan, box pleated, utility kilt (with or without the sporran). It is an ex-hire PV material and light weight. Maybe too heavy for a 10 mile but you could carry a lot of water in the pockets if you opt out of the "ruck sack". Mine is a good "kick around" kilt. Thanks for your service to the country.
