Stars Wars Kilt???
Question for all . I was at a convention and saw a guy with a star wars kilt with spaceships and characters all over it. He told me he got the fabric at walmart and had it made. Today may 16, 2015 i was at a celtic festival. I brought my star wars sheets . I got at a garage sale. They wount do it . but they told me if i google which i did i can find the official licensed star wars kilt/ tartan but i couldn't find anything with star wars, , storm troopers darthvader space ship etc . on the web . Any links or sites or leads would be much appreciated.

Simply googling "Star Wars fabric" is probably the place to start. However, you'd have to look for those that have the properties needed for at least a reasonable chance to hold a pleat, with minimal wrinkling or shrinking.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding Star Wars print cotton. If there's a Joann or Hancock near where live I'd start there, or there are lots of choices if you order online. Bear in mind that novelty prints like that are usually very light weight cotton, okay for quilting or curtains for a kids room, but not the best choice for kiltmaking. It'd be okay for a kilt to wear for giggles to a con, but I think you'd be very disappointed trying to use it for anything more serious than that.

" i can find the official licensed star wars kilt/ tartan"
I've just done a search and can find no listing for any Tartan with Star Wars, Stormtrooper, Sith, 555th or any other reference in its name I can think of. Sorry.

Yes I think the OP is not talking tartan but print fabric.
My preferred quick way to find things is Google "images" like this

You might find the same fabric you saw that kilt made up in.
Once you buy the fabric it's a matter of finding somebody to make a kilt for you. It would be an interesting process to hear about. Good luck!
PS as Ratspike says it might take some looking to find a heavy enough fabric to make a good kilt. You'll probably find very thin cotton, or fleece (to make throws, blankets, and jackets).
Often upholstery fabric is about right, though you might have to wash it to get the sizing out, so the kilt is softer and hangs better.
About the only fabric shop we have around here any more is Jo-Ann, where you can go in and feel the fabric in your hand. Here's their page of licensed fabrics, you can see several Star Wars things
