Images that Influence Your Style?
I'm just curious what images or other people wearing the kilt have influenced your style. For me, RR McIan's illustration of the member clan Graeme has been an influence on how to wear the kilt

What about you guys?

For whatever reason, the kilt with khaki mlitary style ("safari") shirts or pullovers had always been attractive, here, especially with a brimmed, e.g. slouch hat and tan hose. Shoes can be low boots or even rugged-ish low types. Of course, this is for casual. SURE BEATS omnipresent "Chicago sloppy" of blue jeans, tee-shirt, hoodie and athletic shoes. Gag.
The varied articles and photos on "how to wear " on this forum have been instrumental in putting together more formal kit.

This being the Contemporary sub-forum, I'd be interested to know (and see!) how the historical and traditional photos above have influenced people's modern style of kilt attire?

This advertising photo made me realize that sporrans were not a requirement and that vests could hold more "stuff" more comfortably while showing off more tartan.

Xmarks THCD generally, but I allow to a certain extent, single colours, as other threads have shown some Single colour / tweeds are not modern.
There are too many pictures On Xmarks, to quote.
The other biggest influence is of course how much the Bank of SWMBO allows me to spend!

I echo what CMcG wrote. How do photographs and paintings from the previous century affect how you wear your kilt in a CONTEMPORARY way? After all, this is the
