Newbie from Colorado
Hello to all my fellow kilt wearers....
A little about myself, I am a former Marine...so hello to all my brother's and sister's out there, plus a huge thank you to all the vet's serving or that have served from all over the world.
I have been wearing a kilt for about 9 years now, and I love it!!! I must say, it did take a little while to get used to wearing the kilt, but now, I don't even blink when wearing it....it is quite the conversation starter.
I have been playing the pipes with a pipe band here in Colorado for about 8 1/2 years now and totally enjoy it. I am also a huge DIY'er, I have made my own sporrans, kilt belt, sporran belt...etc.. Pretty much everything leather that I wear with my kilt I have made....why pay for it when you can make it for cheaper and a lot better quality. My avatar is actually the center from a much larger piece that I did for an old pipe case that I used to have and it is the Farquharson clan crest.
I also enjoy doing artwork and woodcarving as well. I mainly do my art in pencil and I specialize in portraits and animals, and as far as the woodcarving goes, I am in the process of making myself a new cane.
That's pretty much it for now....I look forward to hearing from everyone and being part of this wonderful site.

Well met Marine (seldom heard the term "former"). Glad to hear from another "do it yourself'er" on the accessories of kilt items. There are many of us here among the rabble.
Have kilted adventures, take and post pics and all will be well in the world.

Thank you everyone,
Former Marine comes from......there is no such thing as an ex-Marine.....Once a Marine, always a Marine so Semper Fi!!! And thank you for the warm welcome....I will be posting pictures of all my leather and art work soon. I am glad to be part of a group that enjoys wearing the kilt as much as I do. And for all my fellow pipers.....good luck in this new year and may your reeds stay in tune.
