Greetings and introduction from SE Indiana
Hello All,
I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. I am from South East Indiana and have just ordered my first kilt. I've been wanting one for many years and have finally taken the steps to acquire one that I hope will be a good beginners kilt. I ordered a Black Isle 13oz wool kilt from UT Kilts hoping it would be easily dressed up or down. (Any input on the kilt or print will be highly appreciated) I will mostly wear it casually with t-shirts/ henleys and on occasion dress it up for church/dinners out.
I am a newbie to kilts and am looking forward to someday getting a kilt made from the family tartan, but I'm having a hard time finding a maker for the tartan, as it's not a very popular one. Any advise there would be welcome as well.
So, thanks for welcoming me to the community!

Well met Sasgets. Glad to have you and your interest of kilts with us. I joined this forum the same way. I have found fun and informed people here with the diversity in backgrounds and experiences while kilting.
You will learn the kilting "bug that leads to addiction" is real.

Hello from a fellow Hoosier! My family's from the Aurora/Lawrenceburg area, so I'm a little familiar with your part of the state. If you haven't taken a look at the Indiana State tartan, please do. It's quite a nice tartan, I think!
U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, Firefighter, Government Contractor, Descendant of Clan MacLeod. Oh, and I just started learning the pipes, so I can add "aspiring bagpiper" to the list.
