Where to get a personalized cap badge?
So I just recently assumed arms (I had some help through the International Association of Amateur Heralds) and I was wondering where I could go to make a personalized cap badge from my Crest. I know XMarks has their own cap badge and I'm just wondering if I could utilize the same company...

Well, yes you could if you wish to commission more than one. The company we used cast them in batches of 12.

As an American armiger why would you be wanting to obtain and presumably wear the accoutrements of a Scottish armiger ?

Given how often I lose my kilt pins and pipe tools a batch of 12 may not be a bad idea.

Well, I'd keep the badge similar to what is seen on most clan cap badges, a belt encircling my crest. I'm not trying to come off as a Scottish armiger, but I would like to wear something such as my crest on my caps as I don't really have allegiance to any one Clan, and I don't like the look of just plain Glengarrys and Balmoral caps. I would, however not be adorning my cap with an eagle feather as I'm not a Scottish armiger.

This gentleman does nice work in silver:
Clan Crest Badges
The home page says "hand made one at a time" so it might be worth an enquiry.

I have my clan badge from them, and their work is first rate.

I feel the same way, and have had the idea of a custom badge several times. For now I am using a generic cab badge, yet one day I might join you in getting a custom badge. My family name is Welsh, while there are over 100 Welsh tribes (only 15 well documented tribes) there are no Welsh tribe badges, most Welsh cap badges are for military units, and only 1 Welsh tribe tartan.
