DIY Sgian Dubh
In truth this is my second attempt, first Sgian was given to my cousin at his wedding as all of the gear he was wearing was hired, so I thought it nice if he had my knife as a momento.
Well 2nd attempt, I had learned some things, got some new tools and was feeling more adventurous - great ideas not so perfectly executed. I wanted to have both the Scottish and Yorkshire elements of my ancestry included.

I did did intend to have much more relief on the rose, but realised that once you drill a big hole for the shank, you have limited depth to play with, therefore did a more stylised rose. Thistle was relatively easy, tried to simulate raindrops with some success using silver pins to match band. The blade is stainless Damascus, which I quite like.
Overall I am happy with design and colours of the wood, just wish the raindrop idea had worked a little better.
