Well, making no claim to machoman status, nevertheless, at 62, I more nearly resemble a silver back gorilla than a genderless sylph.

I guess your perspective changes as you get older...I don't find it particularly offensive or disgusting. And the...perhaps not quite so persnickety...women in my life didn't seem to mind either.

That said, while I can't speak for anyone else I have no plans to shave....not my armpits, not my chest, and especially not my back.

Where will it end? Start down that road and the next thing you know leg hair under a kilt will be considered disgusting. At which point maybe it will also be OK if the pleats go all the way around...or the apron closes to the left.

Yeah, that's bizarre... Not bad or a DO NOT... just odd. Which is why my vote goes into the DO category. DO express your individuality with taste.

As to the sporran, had he been playing the pipes or drums?
Casual shoes, no flashes, a Jacobite shirt, it's a Sport Kilt, no kilt pin- if he's a musician, he's a very, very casually dressed one... (in reference to Ozone's post of the guy in the kids kilt playing kick-the-dirt in Colorado.)

I just don't think cowboy boots and kilts work together.

Now ropers (short riding boots that lace up) might just work

I really like this guys look except for the boots and flashes, interesting and good looking mix otherwise.

I think either the boots or the flashes would work on their own. Together, they look a little too much.

OMG! Somebody NEEDS tell this man that there is something definitely wrong with this picture. I REALLY hope that he was just wearing for a second to be funny, and not actually trying to pull this off as a kilt.

Maybe not tartan "jeans", but I think a nice set of tartan trousers would look great with that outfit.

I'm like a lot of others here. To me, cowboy boots just don't look right with the kilt. It all seems a little too "Dale Evans" for me.
