Eh- Accents are problematic going from written to spoken- and you might be getting the equivalent of 'hearing' a Boston accent and thinking it's an 'American' one.
Still, there's a really good book on English speakers and their accents- a trilogy, really. It's called Accents of English. The second one deals mostly with the British Isles and Ireland.

Unless it is yer man-hood that hangs below yer kilt!
don't wear a kilt too long
don't wear a kilt that is too "blousey", it could be mistaken for a tartan skirt

I won't post the pic due to the nudity, but I am sure you all have seen it: The guy sitting next to Queen Elizabeth, and he is raising his kilt. DON'T DO THAT!

In that the title of this community is "X Marks the Scot" I would have thought that discussion of aspects of Scottish culture would not be too out of place.
Granted it is not directly bearing on the topic of the thread, but if a new thread is started for every other comment, that procedure would get rather cumbersome, don't you think?
Is there a way to quote a part of a thread and change over to start a new one?

X marks is a Kilt Forum.
Topics can wander away from the original point and have to be steered back on course
There is a section for Celtic music and highland games .If you have another question or comment you wish to share we do have an Off topic section to satisfy this need.
