That's not a PC - the Inverness flaps (tasses, whatever) make it a "Regulation Doublet," while if the buttons followed a line from the neck to a wider opening at the bottom, it would be a "Sheriffmuir doublet."

Interesting. I've always thought the ghillie brogues to be less formal than the buckle brogues (Mary Janes).

It was my understanding that across the pond brogues could be used to describe a pair of what American's would call wing-tips or other lace-up dress shoe. But I could be wrong. I've just seen what I would call a leather dress shoe labeled as brogues on some UK websites.
