How Kilt friendly is San Francisco?
Like it sounds in the title, I'm going on holiday to San Francisco in February next year. I'm wondering how how kilt friendly the place is, also if anyone is local and willing to meet up I'm game.

I found San Fran a very friendly place and spotted a couple of kilts when I was there in 2007 but did not wear one myself. I would definitely bring one next time.

I'm in Oakland across the bridge and wear my kilt 2-3 times a week and also have been to events in SF kilted (theater, scotch-tasting, etc). I find it a very kilt-friendly region. Lots of positive comments from people on both sides of the bay.
Wm Glen is the only outfitter in the area for traditional highland wear, Utilikilts has an SF storefront as well. There is a NorCal rabble group, so a meet up could definitely be arranged. I'm game, assuming employment comes my way before then.

As one who lives in San Francisco and wears a kilt frequently I can assure you that it is a kilt friendly city.
As soon as you can give us some definite dates for when you will be here and we can set up a meeting with several area kilties. Always pleasant to meet someone from out of town and even more so for someone from Scotland.

Thanks for the reply's so far guys. I had forgotten about the NorCal Rabble, It would be good to meet up with some of the guys.
as to dates, I arrive in the evening of the 11th and leave on the afternoon on the 21st of Feb

I'm often kilted in and around San Francisco, and find it to be a very "kilt-friendly" area.

I figure that if all of the places that I have been in New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon, Maryland, etc, are kilt friendly...San francisco MUST be kilt friendly!
