I have yet to find a standard skirt hanger that has enough strength to support the heavier weight of my wool kilts.
Here is a "quick and dirty" solution that works.
I took 2 standard skirt hangers and bound them together with Duck Tape.
To hang the kilt, I fold it in half, then in half again. One set of clips then holds the front half of the kilt, and the other set of clips holds the back half.
Like this....
I've had the kilt hanging on this contraption for 2 weeks with no slippage whatsoever. While I've not yet tried this with the all-wire skirt hangers from Wall*Mart, I suspect it will work just as well.
