    I wish I was Welsh

Man, the Welsh have got it goin' on! This is a pretty pointless thread, I just wanted to praise the Welsh and express my envy that I am not among their ranks. I mean, look at this tartan! And this one too! And then they have the Ysgrepan, which is just beautiful! And you think Price Charlies look sharp? Check out the Welsh Argyll jacket! It has tartan on the sleeves and pockets!

And last, but not least, Y Ddraig Goch. Don't get me wrong, I'm damn proud of the Lion Rampant, but a f***in dragon?!? That's just awesome...

So, in conclusion, Catherine Zeta Jones is really hott, and I wish I was part Welsh.

Funny you post this today. I found through my ancestory.com diggings today that I have a Welsh line. Yeah, it's a bit watered down, but it's there.

    "Faulk"

I just gotta dig up a tartan (if there is one.)

Is there something preventing you from wearing the Welsh styles other than your own personal belief that since you're not Welsh, you can't wear those items you admire?

My grandfather was an Edwards. Now I don't know if the name is actually from Wales, but I still got an Edwards tartan Welsh Cilt.

I like the Ysgrepan too. I'm going to have to get one of those.

And just to close it out, I think Catherine Zeta Jones is incredibly beautiful. She's also pretty talented (check out "Chicago" if you haven't seen it).

Nice things, indeed. I'm not sure I see the difference between things like the dragon tartan and sporran and, say, commemorative/souvenir teaspoons, except I've never seen anyone actually use a commemorative teaspoon.

If something is beautiful, functional, and you would be proud to have it in your possession, what's holding you back?

I'm not as inhibited as you, I guess. I, personally, just wouldn't feel comfortable dressing as a Welshman. Besides, I'm content just admiring. Plus, I don't need anything else to buy, I still have a whole list of Scottish stuff I want!

I think perhaps you meant that you're not as uninhibited as I am?

    Yes, sorry. Uninhibited, you're right.
